OUR VISION

The original vision for Southeast Asian Missions was organized by GOD who gave a vision to Dr. L. Thomas Rayner after his entire family died in India where they had been medical missionaries for 17 years. His wife, Eileen, (and their last son), died from smallpox about a week apart. Dr. Rayner was overwhelmed with grief and GOD spoke to him to prevent him from ending his life. The LORD led him to return to his home in Australia.

After 3 days of fasting and prayer, the LORD gave him a vision of his wife and their sons. In the vision, Dr. Rayner was told “Come back to India”. His grandmother had a similar vision. On returning to India, GOD gave him the direction to start helping the native churches, pastors, evangelists, orphanages, hospitals, clinics, and related CHRISTIAN and benevolent work in foreign lands. This included all the other missionary work in all the countries that Southeast Asian Missions is or will be involved in.

This has been part of the ongoing vision from the LORD. As JESUS said in John 15:2,

“…and every branch that beareth fruit, HE prunes it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.”

GOD the FATHER has been pruning us that we may bring forth more fruit. The vision from the LORD includes working with other missions, churches, and other parts of the Body of CHRIST, with the Oneness that JESUS has prayed for us to have together with the FATHER and JESUS. It is part of JESUS' prayer in John 17:21. Dr. Rayner had been involved in all of this before his death in 1984. We have continued to do the same and are bearing much fruit by multitudes as the LORD is leading us.

GOD the FATHER continues to cause us to grow and we now have missions work in over 12 countries. Our goal is to expand into many more countries and HE continues to fill us with His blessings every step of the way. Southeast Asian Missions was founded on a vision from God, and we will continue to serve and honor that vision.

God's vision is OUR vision. Let it be your vision, too.

Blessings in Christ,
