Prayer Requests

"Prayer is the instrument of the life of worship.
It is not worship itself."

~The Oswald Chambers Daily Devotional Bible

Ah, the POWER of PRAYER!! Southeast Asian Missions has an ongoing need for prayer for all the missions efforts it supports overseas. Even if one cannot donate monetarily to our efforts, one can ALWAYS pray. So please help us pray for the many ongoing needs of our organization and the ministries, children, and people that we support in the world. The power of the collective prayer can be quite miraculous. Please join us, and give us your feedback.

Passing of Joseph Britto

On the morning of April 9th (the day after Easter), we received urgent news from Pastor Arthur of the death of his Assistant Pastor, Joseph Britto, in a freak accident while working on repairs of the church van that morning. Joseph was electrocuted while doing some welding and died instantly. Pastor Joseph is survived by his wife and two young children. He was 41 years of age.

This is a subtle attack by the enemy on Pastor Arthur’s ministry and a clear example of the spiritual warfare at hand. Pastor Joseph was in charge of filming Pastor Arthur’s ministries and managed all of Pastor Arthur’s video and media for television broadcast in India. Pastor Arthur now has 25 programs, 13 minutes each, that air each week on Indian television! His church has also now reached 30,000 members! Praise GOD!

At this time, we ask for sincere prayer for Joseph’s grieving family, and for Pastor Arthur and his ministry. Only GOD’s love will heal and mend the broken hearts of the families involved, and bring to rest the enemy’s attack. Read more

One of the affected towns is the municipality of Tayasan, 90 kilometres away from Dumaguete City with a population of more than 32,000 people. According to Phivolcs this municipality was the epicentre of the recent 6.9 earthquake. Read more

Repair for Pastor Boaz’s Church

In December we reported to you about the need for repair for Pastor Boaz’s flooded church. Repair work has begun on this small village church to prevent flooding in the future. We ask for continued prayer on this matter and for GOD to not only provide the means to continue the necessary repairs to both the church and Pastor Boaz’s home, but also for Pastor Boaz’s congregation to grow again once repairs are finished. We recently received some additional news about this from Pastor Arul in India. Read more

    Typhoon Sendong Update

    Dear SEAM,

Thank you for your concern. We are very happy to know that God has prepared people to encourage us!

To begin with, thank God that their lives were spared (our church members). One of the flood victims is a pastor's wife named Thelma Saroma, who is also, at present, a volunteer choir director in our mission church in Tanjay City. She had just lost her husband in July last year when they transferred to the Island of Sequijor in Central Visayas to start a mission work there, but her husband died of a heart attack a week after they arrived in that Island. So, she opted, together with her only son, to transfer in Tanjay City last May 2011, to join in our team of missionaries as a volunteer Sunday School teacher and choir director, and at the same time handling classes in our local campus ministries here.
