On 30 October 2011, I was invited to preach in Zion Church in Nagappattinam, India where there are over 10,000 people who come to worship the Lord Jesus Christ at Zion Church. In some of our video archives we came across this wonderful little duet of Miss Nisha Rachel John and her sister Miss Nissy Mary John singing "Give Thanks" and thought it would be the perfect video to share with you this month. They are both from David John's Evangelistic Team in India. During this season of giving thanks, please be reminded of all that you have to be thankful for and what GOD has provided in your life. Greetings from India!
I wanted to mention that the revival meetings we had in Chennai with Pastor Arul that were advertised went very well. We had a large crowd on Friday and Saturday nights and on Sunday morning we had a packed house. We were back to the large crowd on Sunday night. The meetings were well received. I do believe God worked mightily in the hearts of those who attended. Pastor Arul expressed his complete satisfaction and when Pastor Augustine arrived on Monday evening, Pastor Arul told him we had good revival meetings. Read more
Here is a great video on some of this history of Southeast Asian Missions founder Dr. L. Thomas Rayner. This video was taken in 2006 and is of the late Augustine and Suzie Peters, one SEAM's original members overseas in India. Suzie Peters gives an oral history of when she first met Dr. L. Thomas Rayner and how Dr. Rayner wanted her and her husband Augustine to work with him on behalf of the Missions. There is some great history here told through a great story. Enjoy! Read more
Pastor Augustine Salvaraj came to know Southeast Asian Missions in the year 2000. SEAM's Secretary, G Richard Travis, went to England to study for 3 months while Augustine (and evangelist Alfred Bimur) were also there studying for 6 months. Richard, Augustine and Alfred were roommates and during their non class times, Richard shared all about SEAM with both of them and they were both eager to help out in whatever capacity they could. Augustine became Richard's interpreter in 2001 when Richard returned to India and later, the need came up for someone to go to some of SEAM's mission points to gather information and Augustine was available and willing. He has been very helpful to SEAM and has since become a valued member of our team. Read more
